What To Expect

Fredericksburg Visitor Information Center

You will check in to board the trolley at the Visitor Center. Please arrive 15 minutes prior to tour departure. There is free parking in the parking lot behind the building.

Amazing tour guide (Paul) and pretty good group twc had great reds and service and the blue lotus had good meads and great service the long horn lacked both quality wine and service

Hello Kalvin, and thanks for the kudos for Paul! We think he's amazing too! Our Wine Trolley Tour alternates winery visits between over 50 wineries and we select from those who have the best reviews from guests. Wine is a very personal thing and everyone has a different palate, so we realize we cannot score 100% every time, but we try to! And I think the service on the date you visited was related more to the freezing cold temps we experienced the day you were on tour. Wineries with indoor tasting rooms were hammered that day, also because we had 55mph wind gusts all day - and although we had advance reservations, this little winery was overwhelmed with walkins. However, we note each guest satisfaction rating when mentioned for specific wineries, and we will consider yours before we book there again. I appreciate that you enjoyed your day and were willing to share. Reviews of the wineries we choose are a significant factor in whether or not we bring guests to them. We are letting the winery know of your disappointment for their own opportunity to improve. Thank you, again, for your appreciation of our guide and we are happy you enjoyed the day!

Overall, we had a fantastic time on the tour! The shuttle bus was comfortable and our guide was very sweet. The other couples were really pleasant and two of the three wineries were great! Hye Meadows was our whole group’s least favorite and the only had red wines on the tasting menu. Our guide advocated for us and bought a bottle of Riesling for our group, as several of us did not like red wine. Narrow Path winery was our favorite and had great hosts and beautiful grounds. The tour guide did not give us history on the wineries or Fredericksburg, and had we been in the back of the shuttle, she would have been very difficult to hear, but again, she was very sweet and accommodating. Would do this tour again!

So happy you enjoyed your day- and Michelle certainly went beyond expectations by buying your wine and requesting a schedule change for you! It’s rare that we can shift reservations at the wineries but fortunately it was a slow day after a holiday. Of note, Our Texas AVA is generally known for growing grapes that tolerate heat and those are generally red wine grapes which is why red wine dominates the offerings. Our wineries do their best to provide a variety of wines but many offer seasonal tasting menus. We will definitely mention to Hye Meadow that you wished for white as this winery is very popular with most of our guests. Thanks again for taking the time to review your tour.
