French Broad Gorge Whitewater Rafting Trip

Overview

The French Broad river spans 218 miles from Rosman, North Carolina through Asheville, and toward the state of Tennessee. Section 9 of the French Broad river starts approximately 45 minutes away from Asheville near Marshall, North Carolina and runs through the Pisgah National Forest. The majority of French Broad Section 9 flows through protected lands, and is beginner-friendly. Your guide will navigate you through approximately 4 miles of Section 9, where you will raft through class II and class III difficulty levels, and you may briefly encounter class IV drops depending on the time of year, and the amount of rainfall. This tour combines an incredible stretch of exciting and continuous rapids with some of the most breathtaking scenery around.

This was so much fun. My college buddies and I couldn’t have had a better experience. It was safe, thrilling, and we didn’t feel rushed. The water wasn’t to rough or rapid for us to enjoy it without putting maximum energy. Definitely recommend Leslie and Asheville Adventure Company

Well organized operation and a friendly crew from check in to bus driver (skills!) to guides (Gage and Aidan). My husband had done white water rafting in WV but I wasn’t ready for class 4 rapids so this trip was perfect. Scenic with some heart thumping (but not heart pounding) dips. Aidan was skilled and conversational and got a great group vibe going. Water was fairly warm but luckily we did not get thrown out or flipped over so only got wet to our ankles. Snacks and water on the bus after the trip. Highly recommend!

Excellent time on the French Broad river. We were three women in our 50's, two with no experience white water rafting. We all had a blast. Nick was our guide and he was fun and friendly with our group. He was also at tentative to our safety at all times. Highly recommend doing this tour.
