We enjoy doing a lot of white water rafting on rivers all across the nation. Often we have to use the larger services which leads to crowded rivers, waiting turn, bumping boats, etc. You are processed like cattle down the river. It is always so nice when one of the smaller companies are available because you get a more personal service and can really enjoy the trip. This was the case with Asheville Adventure Company. We really had a great time with Matt, Nick and the really strange looking fellow (just kidding)! Heck, they even shared beers with us at the end of the trip and gave all kinds of great advice on what else to do while in Asheville. The French Broad Gorge is not the most action packed thrilling river but what it does provide is pretty much a nonstop trip (with one swimming break) in beautiful country that is great for beginners, or just someone who just enjoys being out on the water and in nature with really good folks. The river is pretty much the same for all services, what makes AAC different is the folks and personalized service. So we were certainly grateful that this smaller provider was available instead of the bigger cattle processing services.

This was a great rafting trip with knowledgeable and fun guides. I've done a bit of whitewater rafting, and this trip is beginner-friendly but still enjoyable for more experienced rafters. Highly recommend.

I am always that mom that doesn’t think the whole family should do something semi-risky. You know, just in case one of the parents dies? Well, I am so glad we all went on this trip, as it captured all of our adventurous spirits. This was an absolute blast, and even our most timid teenager came out of his shell to express how much he enjoyed it. Our guides, Devin & Coleman, were amazing; patient with our newness, and super positive. Our teenagers learned so much about the river, it’s history, and even asked great questions! The challenge to jump off the rock was accepted by all, and only moderately made me super nervous. This is definitely a trip worth doing again.
