Prepare yourself for a great afternoon with the Tour That Tastes Good! You will be greeted by one of our good-looking and brainy tour guides, who will be eager to escort you to historic restaurants with wonderful ambiance. There you will taste mouthwatering local dishes, such as Gumbo, Red Beans and Rice, and the Muffaletta sandwich. A praline for dessert is included! You will glide through our fabulous French Quarter, founded in 1718. You will admire historic St. Louis Cathedral, named after King Louis IX, who was truly a Saint. He led the seventh and eighth Crusades back in the 13th century. Across the way from the Cathedral is beautiful Jackson Square. If you are interested, the 1850 House on the Square has a nice selection of cookbooks and history books. Regarding the diverse architecture, there is no other place in the country like it. Greek revival buildings stand next modest Shotgun houses. Admire the wrought iron balconies and galleries. We welcome you!

We’ve been on food tours in other cities and this one was incredibly slow. There was a lot of waiting around for when it was time to move to the next location. There were 4 sit downs plus a walk-through Aunt Sally’s to pick up a boxed Praline over a 3-hour period with 16 people. Elizabeth was trying but she needs more training. She gave us some basic information on each of the foods but at times went off on tangents with anecdotes about her relatives. I prefer information that is precise and to the point. She also admitted multiple times that she doesn’t like to cook. A food tour guide should be a gourmand who loves eating and cooking food and can really infuse a passion into the stories about the ingredients and history of the origin of the dishes.

Dear Tricia . . . We were so very sad to read your review. We are a small company, struggling hard to provide an excellent tour. Bad reviews take such a toll on us. I will address your concerns one at a time: 1. The fact that you were unhappy with the tour. If you wish, we will make a refund. We want our guests to really enjoy our tour. 2. The tour was slow. The reason for this is that the French Quarter was BURSTING with tourists, and the restaurants were packed. New Orleans is a popular place to spend New Year's Eve, plus the Sugar Bowl was to be played the next day. 80,000 people came to town to go to the game. This means that the restaurants were under high stress. But they did the best that they could. We regret the extended wait time. Elizabeth: I have counseled with Elizabeth, and we will work with her. As far as "a food tour guide should be a gourmand who loves eating and cooking food" . . . as you can tell by her size, she does love eating. I must say that I too love eating, but not cooking. I don't think it's mandatory to love cooking in order to appreciate fine food. So, to sum it up, we apologize. If you will contact me, I will refund. We can't control crowds on New Year's Eve. We will counsel with Elizabeth. Best wishes to you and your family in the New Year. Sandy

We spent a great afternoon with Naif and a group of just 9 hitting several French Quarter eateries for a generous sampling of the local cuisine. Jambalaya, etouffƩe, gumbo, shrimp po-boy and pralines. Very tasty. Nail is a local, born and raised in Cajun country, who traveled the world as a teacher and returned home to guide people through NOLA's food scene. Very informative and entertaining. All-in-all, a great introduction to start our trip and plan subsequent food crawls.
