I took my folks on this tour in January 2015 and we were very lucky to have Naif as our guide. If there is any way you can request him I would suggest you do so as he is very friendly, informative and has a great sense of humor. While on the tour we went to six different locations and were told the history of the establishment along with tasting their specialty. Naif not only explained the history of the establishment but also the history of how the food came to be. Easy walk and points of interest are explained between the restaurants. I would highly recommend this tour. Don't plan a big dinner afterwards as you will be pretty full from all the sampling that you do.

My husband and I visited New Orleans for 4 nights in Dec 2014 and the Culinary Walking Tour was our favourite part of the trip. I think we enjoyed it so much because we got to experience far more than we were expecting. Not only did we get the opportunity to try the popular dishes of the region, we got extensive tours inside the oldest restaurants in the French Quarter. We saw, and learned, things you would never know about New Orleans history if you didn't take this tour. Our guide was very knowledgable and engaging, and we wished the tour could have lasted all night long. We will definitely be taking another walking tour with this company on our next trip.

My cousin and I were in New Orleans for a long "girls' weekend," and decided it would be fun to learn more about the classic drinks that originated in New Orleans. I've taken an interest in mixology, and wanted to learn more about such famous drinks as the Sazerac, the Grasshopper, and the French 75. We met up with our guide Naif ("you are safe with Naif") and with one other couple, started the tour with a Grasshopper. Naif explained how the bartender was making the drinks, and gave us a lot of history of the bar and NOLA at the same time. Naif, as a native of New Orleans (NOLA), knew just about everyone! When we came out of the second bar, there was a parade with a brass band passing by, complete with bead throwing. Naif talked to someone in the parade and then we joined in! In the past, I have seen those types of parades passing by but never thought I would be in one. It was so much fun!! Naif walked us to the next two bars, pointing out historic locations, and the history of NOLA. In Muriel's he told us the story of the "Tragic Event" of the original owner, and took us on a behind the scenes look at the Seance room. Just fascinating!! All in all, it was the best tour I have ever been one. I highly recommend it! Next time my cousin and I are in NOLA, we plan to take Naif's Culinary History Tour.
