What a great experience! A small group, led by a local and former teacher. What a wonderful experience! I wish I had taken more pictures and recorded a few stories and places recommended. More than a quick tour but a behind the scenes view of the guide's neighborhood. I cannot recommend this tour any more!

If you want an interesting, history filled tour you need to go on this walk. Not often do you find a guide that has grown up in the area, been a history teacher, and lives in the French Quarter. A huge plus was the group size was the smallest of any tour company, so the setting was casual and you felt comfortable asking questions. This tour wasn't a race through the quarter either, like some tours. This is one of the best walking tours we have been on in any city we have visited. We could have easily continued and enjoyed the tour for another 2 hours.

Melanie is a very knowledgeable guide and thoughtful person. One of our party had difficulty walking the day of our tour and Melanie was so kind to work with us. She actually took time out of her day later in the afternoon to meet with us in a hotel and share the culture of the Cajuns, Creoles and French Quarter. I'd highly recommend her!
