My wife and I played tourist in our own city, and booked this tour with some friends. Our guide, Hopper, was most informative and entertaining, as he crafted his New Orleans "gumbo" made up of interesting details about the city's history, economy, architecture, music, culture and more - each ingredient interesting on its own, but when blended together . . . delicious!! I was not aware that we would also get to tour the 1850 House Museum. I've walked past that Museum many times, but never stopped in. You get a wonderful glimpse into what life was like here in the 1850's. It would have been great on its own, but was even better as a surprise perk with this tour.

Booked 4 tickets for 2 couples. We lucked out as we were the only ones on the tour so we could ask lots of questions. We found this to provide a great overview of the history of the French Quarter, New Orleans and Louisiana. The guide, Hopper, was very knowledgeable and able to answer a wide variety of questions. We toured the 1850 House before the tour started and in a quick 20 minutes got a good taste of what it was like to live in the building back in the 1800's. Highly recommend this tour.
