This was a wonderful lesson in the history of New Orleans. Ben our volunteer guide really knew his stuff. Even came with a book of photos to illustrate his narrative. Wonderful to hear it from someone who clearly loves his city. Only down side was 95% of the time was in Jackson Square across from their office. We thought we’d be walking around the French Quarter.

Donna was a wonderful guide, relating both her family history and the history of the city in a fascinating two hours spent leisurely walking the French Quarter. She was knowledgable, willing to answer questions, and clear about what was and was not available in the historic record, and what might be conjecture based on what we can piece together. Our group loved the tour.
