This was my first trip to New Orleans and Louisiana in general. On my second full day here, I took the French Quarter tour with guide Rhiannon and just one other guy. Rhiannon was a great guide whose passion for the history, culture, and folklore of New Orleans echoed my own interests in history and geography. She was very helpful in keeping us dry in an extended downpour and giving tips on navigating around NOLA. I certainly recommend this tour and Rhiannon as a guide.

I recommend the French Quarter Walking Tour With 1850 House. My Beautiful Bride and I enjoyed the walking tour today, led by Jo (Josephine). Apart form the two of us, there was only one other couple on the tour, so it felt intimate and relaxed. We learned about the long history, She shared with us the influences of the many intersecting races, ethnicities, and cultures. We also got the New Orleans perspective on the birth of jazz music. Jo shared some helpful insights on the architecture of the various buildings and the history behind each one.

An excellent walking tour of the French Quarter! Our guide, Arlene, was personable, knowledgeable, and she clearly loves her city. She painted a rich picture of New Orleans's history, pointed out the many facets of its architecture, patiently answered our questions and made sure her information was delivered in shady spots: in short, we could not have asked for a better guide. Of note is that Friends of the Cabildo is a not-for-profit organization: Arlene and her fellow guides are volunteers.
