Took the tour with our guide Joe, great guy and very knowledgeable about the Austin sites and area. Went to Salt Lick BBQ first stop had some very good BBQ. On to 2 wineries for tastings. Iā€™m not a big wine person, but had a wide variety of different wines.

Our group had a great time! We booked the trip the night before. Due to booking late our group would have been separated. Kristin called us that morning to give us a heads up. We didnā€™t want to be separated and Kristin was very helpful and was able to rebooked us on another day to be able to keep our group together. Our guide Justin made the ride very enjoyable. He was very knowledgeable about the area. He also suggested other things to see and do in Austin. At each stop he gave suggestions about which food or wines we should try. šŸ‘šŸ»šŸ‘šŸ»

My husband and I enjoyed a fabulous trip into the hill country with Ike as our guide. We stopped for top-notch barbecue at Salt Lick, and then continued into a surprisingly beautiful (and hilly) green hill country dotted with ranches, estates and wineries. I would love to come back and explore all of the wineries and winding roads. Ike was super informative and really made the trip memorable. This wasn't a prepared speech and non-stop trip. We had a relaxing time, plenty of stops, generous pours, and local history and color provided by Ike's in-depth knowledge of the area. We finished the tour with Ike suggesting local eateries and music venues that usually only the residents would know about and enjoy. We will definitely return to Austin and take another Austin Detours tour, and I hope we can request Ike as our tour guide!
