Explore the natural wonders of Molokini Crater, a volcanic islet 3 miles (4.8 km) off the coast of Maui, on this snorkeling tour from Maalaea. Surrounded by clear tropical waters, this extinct cone is home to many species of marine life, such as fish, sea urchins, sharks, manta rays, and coral. Molokini is a marine preserve, meaning nothing can be disturbed, keeping the island and underwater environment pristine. You'll also explore Turtle Town, and admire native birds. Two water slides, a glass bottom viewing room, and a "leap of faith" are also available if you don't want to snorkel or finish early. Breakfast, lunch, snacks, soda, and juice are included.

We have our captain and crew arrived 30-minutes earlier than usual to spray sanitation and disinfectant on the vessel, and wipe down high traffic areas before guests arrive. Masks & Sanitation are available on boat for guests also.

We didn't take trip to the crater but it HAS to be better. This was recommended to me by boss frogs over the crater. I would not do this trip again. The CREW WAS GREAT. Food was plentiful. The 2 hr boat ride was easily 1.5 hrs to much. The quicksilver is anything but quick. The slowness of boat also makes for a rougher ride. So for the vast majority of people who rarely go out on water. Take a faster boat or as I suggested. Go to the crater. It has to be closer ride. We rode for 2 hrs at slow speed to our destination and got probably less then an hour snorkeling. Snorkeling was good. Then another 2 hr ride back. The competition pacwhale eco tour took off later and beat us to the snorkeling area. Their people snorkled longer. They took off from snorkeling later and passed us again back on way back to the dock. We did see a pod of spinner dolphins which really salvaged a poor ride. I totally regret this decision. I understand people who review here blabber about rich people issues.....but if you want to have fun and be comfortable with ride and time management...go to another place. I would only normally do one star but crew WAS AWESOME.

Absolutely an amazing day. We have been on many snorkeling adventures, but we have never had such a perfect , attentive, kind, energetic and friendly crew. They took care of every detail and made each person feel like the most important person on the trip. The food was excellent. The entire trip was extremely organized. The snorkeling was FANTASTIC. Our group ranged in ages from 19 to 82. They gave special care to my daddy who has dementia and made sure he and my mom were taken care of while the rest of us snorkeled. You must do this when you come to Maui. Thank you to the crew of the Calypso for making this an adventure of a lifetime.

For less than you'd pay to eat out for breakfast and lunch, you get both, and an amazing morning on the water with two beautiful snorkeling locations. I recommend to anyone in the area and will defiantly be going again.
