There are a few options to choose from to explore the Road to Hana so you can experience the rainforest & its waterfalls, streams, fresh water ponds, bamboo forests & lush foliage, but there is only one company where the owners are actually a Native Hawaiian husband & wife team that were born & raised Hawaii. We pride ourselves in sharing the Hawaiian culture, history, & stories about Hawaii & what its like to live life here in the islands, while treating you like the VIP that you are! Our family history goes back 150 years & they still live in a little community out on the Road to Hana.While on tour we'll stop by our family's fruit stand that has been operating for 40 yrs & is the home of "the original banana bread." We'll cover the rigid & rugged terrain on the backside of Maui & travel where most visitors never see. Hot lunch & souvenir backpack included.

What To Expect

Pukalani

We will travel up Haleakala Highway and cruise through the towns of Pukalani -"Hole to Heaven," Kula - "Open Country," Keokea - "The Sound of White Caps," Kipahulu - "Fetch From Exhausted Gardens," Ulupalakua - "Breadfruit Ripened on the Back" and hear the stories and history of this side of Maui.

Manawainui Gulch

See one of Maui's massive "canyons" on the southern coast of the island.

Kipahulu

See the last lava flow from Mount Haleakala and see the valley that connects both volcanoes on Maui. Learn why Maui has been nicknamed the Valley Isle.

Ho'okipa Beach Park

See the world famous "windsurfing capital of the world" where not only windsurfers enjoy, but all types of surfers come to catch waves!

Absolutely amazing trip! Tony was such a fun and insightful tour guide. He would point out every detail and any slow parts of the drive he would tell story time of Hawaiian history. The black sand beach and waterfall pool were beautiful and refreshing. Must pickup a few loads of banana bread, it’s the best in Maui.

A Must see for ALL the sights to Hana on this awesome tour!!!!! It was a wonderful, long day but the sights are so worth it! Tony was our outstanding host, guide and driver.... he gave us so much history and information about the island that made our long day together not seem so long. I get motion sick easily, took a Dramamine and sat in the front of the van and with Tony's excellent, smooth driving did not feel sick! the van is very nice and airconditioned, big windows to see all the sights. We made many stops, swam at the black sand beach (gorgeous), jumped off a rock at a waterfall into a fresh water pool (optional), ate delicious banana bread and shaved ice. Plenty of bathroom breaks. Tony took group pics for everyone and family pics on our phones which was so nice. We were provided drinks all day, towels for swimming. Chicken and mahi mahi were good for lunch. We opted for a side salad instead of the macaroni salad. I recommend wearing your swimsuit under clothing or at least when you change for the black sand beach, keep it on for the waterfall. Going in reverse on the road to Hana is really great b/c none of our stops were busy, not much traffic on the road. Highly recommend, you will enjoy your day and not worry about driving those windy roads!
