What an incredible experience! My boyfriend and I were on a three week road trip around Florida and, having read the raving reviews of this tour, decided to book in for a full day adventure. I am so glad we did! Our guide, Don, met us on the morning of our tour and fitted us with some water shoes and mosquito proof jackets. There was a lovely family of three (Mum, Dad and their son) also on our tour. Don was great at pointing out the local wildlife and explaining how they fit into the greater ecosystem of the Everglades. He ensured that the level of information was engaging to all our levels of knowledge and was always happy to answer all questions asked of him. However, we had great fun sloshing through the Cypress Dome to find an alligator hole (thankfully no one was home..), an owl, lots of little frogs in their bromeliad pockets, and even a snake or two. We then headed to the most southern point of the USA mainland to find a huge crocodile, a couple of manatee and a rather large eagle nest. I think that this is the site where the salt water kayak section would have launched from but unfortunately the offshore wind was too strong on the day. After grabbing some lunch at the small store, we jumped back in the van and headed to the mangroves for a fresh water paddle. Definitely recommended!

We are a family with two moderately fit, middle-aged adults and two sporty boys ages 12 and 15. We did only half a day and were initially apprehensive about walking knee-deep in the Glades but... That turned out to be the best part of our tour. Absolutely awesome! So interesting and exciting. Getting to the Cypress domes, spotting a gator or snakes (worry none, absolutely safe), enjoying fantastic views of thousands of bromeliads and orchids. We really enjoyed kayaking the 9-mile pond but the walk was the true highlight of the tour. The mosquito suits kindly provided by our guide offered extra comfort. Kids didn't have water shoes and were offered a fitting pair each. Jeffrey, our guide, was very knowledgeable and exactly the right person for the job. He made us all feel very comfortable and made sure we saw as much wildlife and interesting plants as possible. We've done many things during our 2-week Key Largo vacation (just about everything the keys have to offer) but the tour with Garl's was the true highlight we will never forget. Highly recommend to anybody who loves and enjoys nature. No special skills, experience, or fitness level required (although, having a decent balance will help you stay on your feet during the walking part and in the kayak when on water). Great fun and experience.

We recently spent 3 weeks touring the SE USA and our trip to the Everglades with Garl's was perhaps the highlight. Our guide, Geoffrey, was enthusiastic, informed, and passionate about his role in educating the public and protecting the Everglades. He was clear that we shouldn't expect comfort, but we should expect an adventure. He was careful in managing the experience for our diverse group of two parents and girls aged 16, 14, and 12. We suited up in mosquito gear and trudged through swamp; we kayed 5 miles in shallow water, and we watched a lightning-lined sunset sipping drinks in our kayaks. We saw manatee, gators, American crocodiles, roseate spoonbills, tarpon, lemon sharks, sawfish, and countless other species. We paid $750 for a nine-hour experience for five people. What a value!
