Garl's Coastal Kayak showed us the Everglades like we'd never imagined! The trip to the Cypress Dome was serenely beautiful and proved difficult to leave. Garl was laid back and we learned so much while thoroughly enjoying the area. The next stop was kayaking. We would never have been so relaxed while paddling by a crocodile which was longer than our kayak, but Garl's confidence put us completely at ease. Again, Garl was able to share his vast knowledge and allowed plenty of time just to simply enjoy the day, which suddenly seemed to end all too soon. A fresh mango milkshake from Robert is Here topped it all off. Can't wait to go back!

Compared to many of our parks, the Everglades are hard to connect to. Garl's Coastal Kayak trip completely changed that dynamic. I went with Don and we saw baby alligators, walked in two Cypress Domes (one of the most magical things ever) and had a great time kayaking fresh and salt water while the sun set. Don knows the science, but doesn't overwelm you with it. He is an a+ birder, who seamlessly adjusts to the interests of the group. I especially appreciated that he knows how to relax and let the quiet of the place work its spell. This is one of the very best "tours" (it feels like being with expert friends) I have been on. Btw, don't worry about the wading -- it was easy and clean; I think my pants were cleaner at the end then when I started.

I was hesitant to go on this trip as we had the whole family including grandmother and our three kids ages from 9 - 5. But I am SO glad that we went! Garl took us on an amazing journey through the Everglades that we would not have been able to experience any other way. If you are thinking of going on an airboat ride in southern Floridaā€¦ DON'T DO IT. Call Garl's Coastal Kayaking and see the real Everglades. You won't be disappointed I promise you that!
