I was skeptical at first for the price and how long the trip wasā€¦ let me say I was completely wrong! This trip was well worth the money! Garl is awesome! Heā€™s extremely knowledgeable about nature, patient, and really cares that you see wildlife and that you have a great time. First, we got to see a mama alligator and we ā€œsluggedā€ through the Everglades in waist deep water for approximately an hour. Be sure to rent water shoes from Garl or bring your own and be sure to wear long pants. Garl provides mosquito repellant jackets, which was a lifesaver in July. We saw a baby alligator, and Garl talked to us about the plant life. It was such a cool experience! Next, Garl took us kayaking in the Everglades, which was beautiful! We also got to kayak in the saltwater, and we saw manatees, crocodiles, and sharks! It was beautiful! Although the weather wasnā€™t great for seeing wildlife, Garl did his best to find animals and even found a huge crocodile that we saw before we left. It is a looonnnggg day but a lot of fun!! Be sure to eat something before you depart because we ā€œsloggedā€ and kayaked before a late lunch.

What an amazing, immersive way to experience the Everglades! Yes you can go to the trailheads and cross your fingers that youā€™ll be able to spot some wildlifeā€¦ but with Garl at your side youā€™re guaranteed to see whatever is around you with his binocular like eyes! We started our trip slogging through the water which was my absolute favorite! Do yourself a favor and wear long pants, long sleeves, and a hat (yes regardless of how hot it is) to protect yourself from mosquitoes! Bring plenty of bug spray but I promise itā€™s worth it! I found cheap waterproof long pants on Amazon that were perfect for this! We saw barred owls hooting to each other among the cypress trees! Next, we headed to Flamingo visitor center area to saltwater kayak! We saw crocks along the shoreline, manures and sharks swimming by in the distance (donā€™t worry Garl sees them all!) pelicans, bright pink roseate spoonbills, herons, and more! Unexpected winds hit us while we were kayaking so it was a little tough paddling against the current but we did it! If youā€™re considering a tandem, do it in case it gets hard- just make sure to email them and let them know before your trip you want a tandem kayak. We didnā€™t have time for freshwater kayak but Garl said the water level was extremely high from recent rain so we wouldnā€™t have seen much wild life- he tailors the trip each day to make sure you see what you came for! Garl was extremely knowledgeable and answered all of my questions and taught us so many amazing facts. Plus, he spotted so much wildlife that I would have 100% walked right by and missed! 10/10 recommend !

Had an amazing time with a wonderful guide in Garl. At the park entrance, the park ranger saw us driving behind him and asked if he was our tour guide. "He is the best you couldve asked for." She was right and then some. Thank you for such a special day.
