Full-Day Tour: Concord Waterfall, Chocolate Factory, Rum Distillery, Grand Etang

Overview
This remarkable full-day tour, showing you the very best of Grenada in a day. See St. George's, the prettiest capital town in the Caribbean. Travel up the western coast and visit the picturesque Concord Waterfalls nestled in the lush mountains where you can be refreshed by swimming in the cool water. Visit the fishing town of Gouyave and the spice processing station, where you will see why our island is called the "Isle of Spice" then continue to the Diamond chocolate factory to taste and learn how chocolate is made. Have lunch at an authentic Grenadian restaurant, before heading to the Caribbean's oldest functional water-powered distillery before tasting its potent rum. The tour would not be complete without a visit to Grenada's interior and largest national park, to see the Grand Etang Lake and rainforest.

Our guide for the day was Dexter, who was very knowledgeable and an excellent driver. The tours were to the Concord waterfall, very pretty; to the Nutmeg factory, where you can see the whole process of shelling, drying and grinding and then packing.....fascinating! Then off to the Chocolate factory...again the whole process from the pod to the finished product, where you can taste all the different types and purchase. Heaven! An excellent lunch is provided at a restaurant, from traditional cuisine. After lunch off to the Rum processing. Again, a very good guide and tasting provided. Lastly, returning to St. George's via Etang National Park in the rainforest, where you can view the crater lake and if you're lucky, see one of the resident Mona monkeys. I would have no hesitation in recommending this tour.

Our guide was 20 minutes late picking us up. He seemed knowledgeable, pointing things out while he was driving, but the problem with this tour is that most of the stops they turn you over to other people. The nutmeg factory and chocolate factory tours were perfunctory and a waste of time, when surely there must be many interesting things to learn about those trades and industries. The rum distillery tour was far more thoughtful, with one tiny problem - they took us to a distillery that was in the middle of months long repairs and wasn't even in operation. Why not switch to another distillery if that's the case? I would skip the waterfall, as well - it was crowded and not that special.

Excellent tour. Got to see the whole island. Our tour guide Rahl was amazing. Knows everything about Grenada’s history, plants, trees, fruits. Highly recommend this tour.
