Had a fantastic day out yesterday, only 3 of us in the group and we were escorted by the wonderful Dexter. He is so knowledgeable about the island and his pride in Grenada is catching. Everything we saw was so interesting and as this tour pretty much took us round the whole island, we were able to see, on route, different towns and communities and how the people live here. A trip not to be missed. Dexter made the trip for us, way to go Dexter.

Michael is a very knowledgable and entertaining guide. Would definitely recommend him and Henry Safari Tours to everyone. We learned much about Grenada and enjoyed the ride as well as all the locales. He is also a great driver!

We drove around the entire island, and in so doing, got a feel for the island. We stopped at Concord Falls where we saw two locals dive over the top of the falls into the pool below. They asked visitors for money before doing so. We tasted local bananas, or "figs" as they are called here. We then went to a nutmeg processing plant, followed by a cocoa processing plant where we sampled Grenadian chocolate, along with the cocoa fruit, cocoa nibs, etc., and learned all about how chocolate is made in Grenada. I have a dairy allergy, and I was delighted to know that no milk is used in any of the Grenadian chocolate. We then stopped for a typical and traditional Grenadian meal at a quaint restaurant overlooking a beautiful tropical beach. After this we visited a rum distillery where rum is produced in the old-fashioned way. Most of the tour sampled the rum. I did not, as I don't drink; however I was allowed to try the sugar cane which is crushed to make rum. We returned to St. George's via the Grand Etang National Park where we stopped to visit a beautiful lake in the crater of an extinct volcano. Our tour guide was excellent. He welcomed questions and was a wealth of information about the island's history, politics, way of life, etc. The tour advertises that it picks you up at your hotel. We were actually staying at a B and B about 20 minutes outside of St. Georges, and there was no problem picking us up or dropping us off back at our B and B. Overall, a wonderful day.
