Overview
ACCESS TO SOME LOCATIONS, INCLUDING LAFAYETTE CEMETERY MAY BE RESTRICTED DURING THE COVID-19 PANDEMIC

Boasting the world’s largest collection of 19th century American Southern style mansions, the Garden District of New Orleans deserves special attention and a tour of its own! View unique architecture, oak tree-lined streets, manicured gardens, and the homes of some of America’s most famed celebrities—both past and present—as you leisurely stroll through this neighborhood. Stop at Lafayette Cemetery No. 1, arguably America’s most infamous graveyard. The above ground crypts of this “city of the dead” have appeared in numerous blockbuster films including “Double Jeopardy,” and “Interview with the Vampire.” Other highlights include Briggs-Staub House, Colonel Short's Villa, Commander’s Palace restaurant, Lonsdale House, Musson House, Payne House, The Rink, Robinson House, Toby-Westfeldt House, and celebrity homes of Anne Rice, Sandra Bullock, Ella Brennan, and John Goodman.

This tour was fantastic and we had a great time. I really enjoyed the history of the Garden District and appreciated that we weren't in a seedy cemetery for the tour. If you have time while in town, this is a great way to spend a few hours :

really liked this tour. Tara was a very knowledgeable and fun guide and we got to see a lot.
I'd like to go back and see some of the insides of the houses.

This was a great tour. I went with my 20 year old son as part of a 4 day trip. I'm so glad we included a tour of the Garden District among our carefully selected activities - we learned so much about the history of the city, the plantation owners and other notable residents, all quite educational and informative. The homes and gardens themselves were gorgeous, and our tour guide Steve was quite knowledgable about their owners, past and present, and the changes in the area throughout the year. This tour was just the right length, with just the right amount of information to not be overwhelming but yet to round out our understanding of New Orleans. Definitely recommend!
