The guide, Michele, was knowledgeable and down to earth. She took us to restaurants that were off the beaten path, but were popular in the neighborhood. These were places we would have never visited on a typical trip to New Orleans, but the food was really really very good. Who would think a duck hot dog with blackberry jam and coleslaw would be sooo very good. Thanks Michelle for showing us that part of your great city!

Michelle is incredibly knowledgeable about how the colonists, religion, sugar, disease, and politics have shaped the culinary landscape of the area. Spending 3 hours picking her brain about history and food was more informative than any book. She talks fast and my aging FIL found it difficult to hear and keep up. I liked learning about the architecture of the area as well as the history of the places we visited. We definitely tried new food items.
