Mine for gems and fossils along covered outdoor or indoor rushing water flumes. Keep what you find. Explore the property and visit the goats at the goat barn. Visit the aviary to see peacocks, pheasants and more. Explore NC’s largest crystal and fossil store.

I really don't understand the positive reviews and rating of #1 gem mining. We paid $40 for a bucket for our family to share and we were done in under 10 minutes! They are pre-mixed buckets, not raw dirt. You aren't really mining, but just washing the dirt off some staged stones. We've been to other gem mining locations where you actually get raw dirt and look for natural stones. This is not that. I guess if you have some small children who get a thrill of finding anything in a pile of dirt, it would be ok. I thought it was very disappointing and a waste of my money.

Our goal is always 100% satisfaction with all of our guests. I’m sorry that that was not your case. We would have loved to discuss your concerns while you were here. I hope that you did get a chance to walk down to feed the goats at the barn, see the peacocks and pheasant habitat and the dinosaurs at Jurassic pond. If you were here for only 10 minutes, you certainly missed what we are about. Good quality family time. In response to our #1 ranking, our ratings show that we are by far the highest rated Gem Mine not only in the state, but in the country. I wish you had taken time to see that.

This is a must experience. Been here many times and I can say that they have added attractions for the kids and adults alike. We had company from out of town to experience gem mining after the kids and parents finish their buckets and they all had a blast. They went to play by the creek, fed the chickens and goats. They also played in the new obstacle course they opened. I can’t say how much fun they had. Plus they bought hot chocolate, tea and got some gifts from their abundant choices of all kinds of gems, fossils and many more interesting items.
