Small infants under walking age can sit on an adults lap and fly free
Subject to favorable weather conditions. If canceled due to poor weather, you will be given the option of an alternative date or full refund.
A minimum of 2 people per booking is required
Weight limit is 290 lbs per seat (and a combined max of 600 lbs for 3 passengers).

What To Expect

Alpine Air Alaska

Your tour starts at our hangar at the Girdwood airport where you will receive a short safety briefing and board the helicopter for your flight to see spectacular glaciers and mountains. We ask all guests to arrive 15 minutes before your tour departure time.

Chugach National Forest

Fly over the glaciers and mountains of Alaska's Chugach range.

Girdwood

We are located in the scenic ski resort town of Girdwood, located about 40 miles south of Anchorage, Alaska. While in Girdwood, check out the great hiking trails and visit the Resort Alyeska after your flight with us!

Cancellation Policy

For a full refund, cancel at least 24 hours before the scheduled departure time.

No experience to tell other than the fact that there is a weight limit on passengers. Set up time and even paid for trip to find out ten minutes later that myself was too heavy.

Hi Randy, We were as disappointed as you to learn that we could not accommodate your lovely party on our tour. Unfortunately there is a seat weight limit of 300lbs in the aircraft that we utilize for our flightseeing tours. This is a non-negotiable safety limit that is enforced by the FAA and observed by all companies flying this aircraft. I’ve traveled to over 30 countries and this is by far the coolest experience I’ve ever had. We were on the fence about doing a helicopter tour due to cost, but I am so incredibly glad we decided to book. The staff is friendly, mindful of safety, and informative. Our pilot Jackson was exceptional & great at spotting wildlife + answering all of our questions about glaciers, the area, etc. Our flight was full of laughs, fun facts, and a lot of “wow”s. I’ll be telling all of my friends and family that this is the #1 must do in Alaska.

Beautiful helicopter flight from Girdwood to the Colony Glacier. would definitely recommend if you are short on time, but want to see wild Alaska up close.
