Barbara (our tour guide) messaged me before the tour with the location where we'd be meeting and also to let me know she'd be wearing a green shirt - so she'd be easy to find. We arrived a little early and asked if there was a coffee shop nearby so we could grab a snack & coffee for breakfast while we walked. She took us to the first stop (The Rink) and we all got coffee and a pastry before beginning the tour at our scheduled time. Barbara was full of knowledge, history, and stories that helped us understand the history, architecture, and culture of the Garden District. She showed us the "southern hospitality" that you hear about in movies. Barbara would take us to shade whenever possible, so we wouldn't get a sunburn, she'd let us catch a breeze when one came through, would tell us to watch out for cracks or irregularities in the sidewalk, and would even take us to spots where we could get the best photos. Overall it was an amazing tour. We learned so much and had so much fun. When the tour was over she gave recommendations for food, shopping, and explained to us how to use the streetcar. This was the best tour we went on during our stay in NOLA. Thanks to Barbara!
