This self-drive tour takes you through the Downtown and Old Town areas of San Diego, but you will also pass through other thriving areas such as Little Italy, The Gaslamp Quarter, Balboa Park, Mission Hills and Presidio Park. This exciting tour has turn-by-turn GPS with tour commentary along the way. *If booking more than 2 people please submit separate orders!

Drive through Balboa Park, a stunning 1,200 acre park in the middle of San Diego. Its diversity of Spanish Renaissance Architecture, museums for all interests, gardens, and the outdoor pavilion make it a great place to explore in your GoCar.

Gaslamp Quarter

Make your way into the Gaslamp Quarter which was once San Diego’s red-light district and see how it has been re-imagined into the social scene it is today

Old Town San Diego State Historic Park

Old Town San Diego is where you can see how San Diego looked in the old west where its Spanish and American residents formed a thriving community

San Diego Zoo

Drive by the San Diego Zoo, one of the most renowned zoos in the world and is home to over 12,000 rare and endangered animals.

Presidio Park

Your jump into history will take you past Historic Fort Stockton, into Presidio Park where the old Spanish Mission used to stand.

So much fun!! Excellent customer service too. I called before I got there and a young lady was very helpful. The manager on duty was so cool to deal with.

Thought this would be a fun adventure but it was horrible. 5 minutes into our journey and the road was closed. The gps does not account for road closures and we had to use the other map to get back on track... it didn’t happen. The car isn’t equipped to handle certain roads. I ended up getting out of the car and walking up several hills to get to the next drivable point to get us back on track. Finally made it to balboa park where the gps picked up again. Just a few minutes later, another road closure... it was awful. We spent about 10 minutes on the tour and 50 minutes trying to get back on a proper route. We were so sick of it we just went back to the business to end the trip... but guess what, the gps couldn’t get us there. Ended up having to call them to get us back and do u think I got straight tru to someone? Of course not... I had to go thru an automated system.. after everything I ended up getting a 50% refund, only 50% because we had the car for an hour... think about that. We spent 10 minutes on tour and 50 trying to deal with road closures. If that seems okay to u then book it. For me, it’s unacceptable and I’ll definitely not recommend this company to anyone

Hi Tracey, We are not able to control road closures around San Diego. You decided after Little Italy to find your own route to Balboa Park. While we encourage customers to customize their tour, however, we explain in the briefing that the GoCar is not equipped for certain hills. The computer system is provided as a guide only. It will go silent if you decide to go off-route. You were only charged for the time you kept the car out. We had numerous tours out the same day and were able to navigate around the farmers market.

Really fun! Would definitely do again! The tour took you around the whole city and we’re able to see some great cites!
