What To Expect

Adventure Sixty North

The canvas-covered log framed structure where we pan for gold is located just across from our walking bridge, between our office and the gift shop. Depending on the salmon run, we can often spy salmon in the creek. The covered troughs allow us to stay dry while panning, which makes this the perfect activity, rain or shine!

Pretty lame even for the little ones. Definitely a waste of time and money. You dump a plastic bag prefilled with “gem stones” and a couple of small gold flakes. Some found them some did not.

The person leading the experience made us feel like we inconvenienced him for bringing our whole family with us. When we read about it, it was advertised as a family friendly experience. We learned some basics about gold panning, found a few pre-planted gold flakes, but it was a big waste of money.

Larry was our guide and he was amazing! He was knowledgeable about the history of gold panning and history about Alaska. He also was patient and kind with my three year old, he took the time to explain everything and help us pan. I would recommend it for any ages!
