Overview

Currently the Park Service is not allowing us to mix groups due to COVID-19 safety procedures, so we are unable to provide this tour for less than 4 people. If you have a smaller group, please reach out to our company directly to discuss other options. By far our most popular hiking tour, this hike and sightseeing tour offers guests varying views of the Canyon, from the inside out. This tour is for guests who want to enjoy an excellent tour of the South Rim of the Grand Canyon, but also spend some time below the Rim.

Enjoy a great tour with a knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic guide who loves what they do. We provide door-to-door service from your stay place with everything you need to have a great time. Grab your camera and leave the lunch, snacks, beverages, hiking equipment, and driving to us! We pick up in the following towns: Flagstaff, Williams, Tusayan, and Grand Canyon.

What To Expect

Yavapai Point

We start the day with a viewpoint where your guide will give a hiking orientation.

South Kaibab Trail

The hiking portion of this tour will traverse 3/4 of a mile down the South Kaibab to Ooh Aah Point and then go back up the same way you came. Weather and crowd permitting you will enjoy a picnic lunch at the viewpoint. This delicious lunch is made by Brandy's restaurant the morning of your tour. All your gear, such as backpacks and trekking poles is provided.

Grand Canyon South Rim

The rest of the day is spent traveling to various viewpoints along the South Rim in a comfortable air conditioned van or SUV. At each viewpoint we will exit the vehicle and your guide will spend time showing you views through the provided spotting scope and regale you with interpretation that includes information about the plants, animals, peoples, history, and archaeology of the Grand Canyon. The viewpoints included depend on weather, time of year, crowds, and guide preference. They may include, but are not limited to: Mather Point, Grandview Point, Moran Point, Tusayan Ruins, and Desert View Watchtower.

There is no better way to see the Grand Canyon in a day! All-Star and our guide, Donnie, worked with us to to determine the perfect mix of sight seeing and hiking with luxury amenities. They took care of all of the details of the trip including picking us up at our Airbnb, snacks, beverages, lunch, entrance fees to the park and even wine/sparkling grape juice at sun set. Donnie was knowledgeable, personable, could talk on ANY topic and service minded. I couldn't recommend them higher.

Our family had never been to the Grand Canyon, so it was very important to me that we have the full experience. Nothing prepared me for the magnificence of what we saw or our incredible day of touring (although Cari tried). I chose All Star Tours because of the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. The prep work that Cari put into our tour was thorough. She kept in constant contact with me to ensure that the 5 of us (ages 24-56; my husband, myself, our son and daughter-in-law and our daughter) would have everything perfect, from the food and drink provided (all of our special requests were met, including ample choices for our 3 vegetarians-lunch was AMAZING!) to the level of activity and the scope of what we would see. We stayed in two rooms at the Thunderbird Lodge (there is nothing better than being able to walk out of your room and be on the southern rim). I planned our tour on our first full day at the Canyon. Ben picked us up in the morning and immediately I could see I had made the perfect choice in touring companies. The tour bus was loaded with fruit, snacks and drinks and Ben was personable and knowledgeable. He adapted our day, keeping ahead of the weather as much as possible, as it was in the 20's and 30's with a vicious wind and eventually a heavy snowstorm. But this only added to our experience. Most of us, where we live, don't get snow and we were truly in a winter wonderland, along with the many mule deer and elk that we saw. We felt safe the entire time. Our family and Ben wore our masks everywhere, even on the bus. Because of the weather many of the lookouts were empty of people. The beauty took our breath away. Ben told us all of the history and little details, answering all of our many questions. Unfortunately we didn't get to enjoy the sunset portion of the tour because of the snow and because we were completely wiped out, but Ben gave us the snacks and told us where to go the next day (when the weather was to be more cooperative). We followed his instructions and even had the great pleasure of seeing him again (with his group that day; we were sad that he wasn't with us as we felt he had become a part of our family). We would definitely do this again and I highly recommend doing this tour at the beginning of your visit. You will not be disappointed!
