The content of the trip was excellent. It s a long day that begins at a 6:00 am pick-up point until the scheduled/stated return of between 9:00 and 9:30 pm. HOWEVER, our bus driver (driver only, no guide) was too much of a "nice guy" as he called himself and tolerated tour group members to be nonchalant about adhearing to the stated time limitations (example: 15 munute bathroom breaks allowed to stretch to 55 minutes). There was one particular group of people who were the main offenders and it was frustrating to see our tour representative tend to laugh off the tardiness. HOWEVER, rather than returning to Las Vegas between 9:00 and 9:30 pm we returned to Las Vegas at 11:00 pm. THEN there were multple stops to distribute the patrons to their designated hotel drop-off points. To add further insult the main offenders responsible for continually returning to our bus late were returned to their hotel first. The rest of us had another 30 minutes before we were dropped off. The tour representative was not professional in dealing with these selfish individuals. Forty-seven of us suffered because of eight. Again, the Grand Canyon was terrific and worth the long drive to get there. The Hoover Dam photo stop was allowed to stretch way too long but the Hoover Dam is a magnificent sight to see. The Route 66 stop was was a very contrived affair of souvenir stands with terribly overpriced trinkets. Not much to see of value. The box lunch provided was very good (a substantial sandwich with cookie) and there were wrapped pastries available at the front of the bus throughout the day which was a nice touch. Not much narration from the driver on the road, unfortunately. There really should be a designated guide for this tour. Overall, you receive a decent value for your hard earned cash, but this day certainly was not as good as it easily should have been.
