Your expert guide will meet you at the Pavilion next to the Upper Falls Parking Area at 8AM. This is also the staring point for Uncle Tom's Trail. The hike is a 6-mile loop. The hike is along the Canyon Rim, through the forest out to Ribbon Lake, and then past a geyser basin, Clear Lake, and the Wapiti Meadows with big views of the Hayden Valley. Definitely recommend if you want to escape the crowds and go off trail in Yellowstone. The change in landscape in just a 6 mile hike from canyon to mud pots to forest and meadow was really cool to see. Our guide Kim was very knowledgeable and prepared us for every possible situation which allowed for an enjoyable experience. We did get caught in a thunder storm for a few minutes but our guide was calm the whole time and told us what to do and it ended up being a learning experience. If you enjoy hiking you have to do this hike in Yellowstone it was our favorite thing we did.

Perfect hike for beginners. This hike has so much to see. Having a guide really makes this enjoyable. I canā€™t think of another hike in the park with so much in a short 5 mile hike.

The view of the falls and hike along the ridge was great. Our guide did a great job of providing information about many different things we saw along the hike. Also a good explanation of how the park was formed.
