Your expert guide will meet you at the Pavilion next to the Upper Falls Parking Area at 8AM. This is also the staring point for Uncle Tom's Trail. The hike is a 6-mile loop. The hike is along the Canyon Rim, through the forest out to Ribbon Lake, and then past a geyser basin, Clear Lake, and the Wapiti Meadows with big views of the Hayden Valley. If you hike one trail in Yellowstone this is it!

We did the Canyon Rim tour with Josh. It was incredible. He did a great job and it was our favorite part of the trip. Would highly recommend.

We hiked the Canyon Rim trail guided by Emily Jo and had the time of our lives! She met us at the trail head right on time and amazed us from the start with her knowledge of everything in sight - plants, trees, soil composition, birds and animals. She even pointed out how to tell the difference between tree bark being rubbed off by a bear vs a bison - who knew! The Canyon Rim trail was spectacular and diverse. You get unforgettable views of the Falls to start and then meander to less travelled parts of Yellowstone past clear blue lakes, thermal areas, and wide open spaces with views of Hayden Valley. You literally see a little bit of everything the park has to offer, off the beaten path. Iā€™m so glad we picked Yellowstone Guided Hikes - and the Canyon Rim trail - as this was an exceptional experience!

The hike is mostly off trail due to all the bison dictating your course. I enjoyed every minute of it. The hike was just Josh and myself and the hike couldn't have gone better. Josh is super knowledgeable about the surroundings. I left with more of an education for the park and the area. Until you take the hike, you just won't understand. There's just a majesty to the area and the wildlife. You will go off trail and see areas few people get to see because Josh grew up camping in Lamar. He knows that entire area the way you know your neighborhood in and out. I will use Josh and Yellowstone Hiking Guides again when I bring my family to the park. You won't regret the Lamar hike and you won't regret Yellowstone Hiking Guides.
