My wife and I upgraded to dome seats. It was worth the additional cost however if I ever do it again, I would get a dome seat on the way to the Grand Canyon and first class seats on the way back. Not because of the cost savings but to me the first class cabin seemed more comfortable and less crowded and therefore probably more relaxing after a day of touring. I would have given the railway five stars but I found it irritating with the entertainment onboard obviously looking for tips (primarily singers and train bandits) as well as the onboard photographer. I believe the cost for a few photos was around $50 which was ridiculously overpriced. Overall, the train ride was a fun experience and a much easier way to get to the Grand Canyon. But once you arrive in the park you only have a few hours before the return trip departs so you need to manage your time wisely. We coupled the train with a bus/lunch tour which was worth the money as it made it much simpler to tour the South Rim.

We took the Grand Canyon Railway, spent a night @ the Grand Canyon then the train back to Williams. It was a very enjoyable time. The food, drinks & entertainment was excellent.

The Grand Canyon Railway was a great experience, to travel the train and see the terrain and the wonderful green in north Arizona.. who knew? The ride was relaxing, we were in the Observation Car and had a "Grand view". The staff was fantastic, from the Ticket staff (Dorie) to our Train attendant (Conya) was fantastic. They even presented a little token gift for my birthday (fudge) from the Train depot... Delicious!!!. We were entertained by a great "Singing Cowboy".. he was great! A great trip and very relaxing.. knowing I did not have to drive and deal with the road construction... Enjoy!! The Breathtaking views of the Grand Canyon .. South Rim (this time) next Grand Canyon Skywalk..
