The employees of the train are top-notch. They go out of their way to make your trip enjoyable and fun. It's a relaxing way to get to the Canyon, and the transport of luggage is a piece of cake (if you are staying overnight). Bring small bills because they work for tips (musician, cowboys, waitstaff). I would also try and get a full window seat. Our view was obstructed on the way back and my daughter missed the 'cowboy' show. We had a great time on the Grand Canyon Railway and hope to come back some day!

I'd say we had a pretty good experience of the Grand Canyon Railway. The place we were staying trappers rendezvous booked our tickets for us which was nice. Somehow our AAA discount didn't get figured into the price so I called the Grand Canyon Railway in the refunded me the difference. There is a small western show before you board the train. We had booked the first class and had snacks in nonalcoholic drinks. The alcoholic drinks were average priced and pretty good. The scenery was not exactly what I hoped for but it was pretty good anyway. There were some entertainers traveling through the train singing songs which wasn't too bad and I didn't mind tipping them. The Grand Canyon was amazing but make sure you listen to the person on the train who tells you to be back on time for the train or it will leave without you. There's only one train a day so if it leaves without you you'll be spending the night there. Some of the shuttles once you get to the Grand Canyon can get really packed with people getting on and off and it might take longer than you think to get back. I made it back with about five minutes to spare and I was running to make it to the train. The train ride back was very nice and quiet. The food and drinks were back in they were selling alcoholic drinks to the people in first class which once again when a bad price so we bought some. Don't forget to try the Arizona sunset. The train will be held up by cowboys on horses robbing the train and you might want to tip them. (All part of the show). Like they say in Vegas what happens in Vegas stays in Vegas they say at the Grand Canyon whatever falls to the bottom stays there so don't look too close over the edge.

Riding the train in the Grand Canyon Railway was a grand experience. The train ride was about 2 hours long. The kids enjoy the cafe car area. There was also an “experience to remember” which I don’t want to giveaway for future riders. The attendants are nice with a special shout out to Tina our conductor.
