The Grand Canyon Railway is an organization that focuses on total satisfaction from the ticket window, to the gift shop, to the actual train ride. My recommendation is to purchase at least the 1st class tickets. This level provides you reserved seats with large comfortable chairs, complimentary snacks and alcohol (for an add’l charge). The car hostess is very knowledgeable about the train, the southern rim and was able to make suggestions considering what to do for the few hours we had at the top. Each way trip took about 2 hours but there was plenty to entertain the passengers.....musicians and train robbers.....well worth the money!!

We thoroughly enjoyed this well-organized, worry free way to travel to the Grand Canyon. We upgraded to the domed seats, and enjoyed the view on the trip. Our hostess was friendly, knowledgeable and helpful. We enjoyed the entertainment (banjo picker and guitar). And, of course, the the train robbery kept things interesting. My only regret is that we didn't have more time at the Canyon. If doing this again, we would consider spending the night at the canyon, and returning on next day's train. That is an option offered by the Railway company.

We took the Grand Canyon Railway. We really enjoyed the scenery on the ride to Grand Canyon. Of course, Grand Canyon was spectacular. The train provides drinking water. The staff was friendly.
