My husband and our two boys (14 and 10) took the tour last week (June 2012). We were able to capture the rich history of the Grand Canyon from our guide's (Richard) teachings. The geological class held on the rim of the Canyon was perfect. Holding the rocks while you looked at the layers really made an impact on my 14 year old. Lunch and shoping at the Navaho reservation was nice. Being from the south we only put sugar in our tea, the raspberry tea was delish! The side shopping trip to an outlying Navaho stand ended up with a unique conversation between myself and a Hopi child named Savannah, something I'll remember for a long time. My youngest loved the snacks and drinks that came along with the price of the trip.

This is the best tour I have taken. The tour guide (Richard) was very nice and helpful. It was great that we got to stop and eat the Navajo taco and raspberry iced tea, both of which are very good. The viewpoint that he gives his lesson form is incredible. He is also very helpful pointing out certain spots in the canyon. I highly reccommend his tour. It would probably be annoying if there were more than 12 people in the group because the van would get crowded, luckily he group I went with a group that only had a total of 8 people in it.

We scheduled a trip to Arizona for November 2011, over Thanksgiving weekend. My husband and I thought if we are going to Arizona ... we are going to the Grand Canyon. We did a little research online and came across Canyon Dave's Tours and booked it for the day after Thanksgiving. Dora picked us up at our hotel and we set off on our adventure. We realize it was off season to be visiting the Grand Canyon ... but HOLY COW it was spectacular!! The sights were amazing and we all learned a ton!! Our kids were 12, 10 and 5 and they LOVED everything. Dora was so patient with the kids ... even the little guy, who would rather be picking up trash left by other tourists!! The older kids came back with information that they were able to share with their classes. I've heard people say they went to the Canyon and thought "ok it's a big hole." Apparently, they didn't have a guided tour that points out all the characteristics, points out the animals and plants that call the canyon their home or taught them how the canyon was formed. As we left Grand Canyon and drove south to Casa Grande we were able to recognize the differences in the plants etc. which Dora had pointed out to us on our tour. Arizona turned out to be quite different than my husband and I had pictured in our minds. We will be back and we recommend Canyon Dave's Tours!!
