I had done some hiking in the Grand Canyon 20+ years ago, and have dreamed of returning. This trip was part of a birthday celebration for my husband, who had never been to Arizona. Part of the joy was watching his reaction; the awe and humility the Canyon inspires. Part, absolutely, was seeing the Canyon under Keaton's guidance. The last time I was there, I experienced the Canyon by hiking up from the Colorado River. I had some knowledge, but no guide. This time I felt a different appreciation of the story of how such a magnificent treasure came to be. Keaton engaged our minds and our hearts as he brought us to various viewing locations. The day was so perfectly paced, the teachings so apt to what we experienced at each stop. On our tour we had a family of three generations, another of two, my hubby and me. Keaton engaged us all. He was entertaining, knowledgeable, respectful, and his love for the Canyon is so evident. He's a natural teacher, and a really great guide. Plus, he shares my love for Navajo tacos, and for that I am deeply grateful. He took us to THE best for lunch. (boom!) I would recommend this tour to anyone who wants to really understand the Grand Canyon, and is willing to spend a day to do it. Even if you don't believe it ahead of time, the geological history could be a juicy novel the way Keaton tells it. Then, on top of it (and the highlight for me) were the great stories about the history of the Canyon's "people" - those who knew and loved it first, some brave and adventurous souls, a couple of wild characters. All great stories, all well told. Thanks, Keaton, Thanks Canyon Dave. Nailed. It.

Last week my husband and I took the Ultimate Tour at the Grand Canyon and it was fabulous! Our tour guide, Canyon Dustin, was incredibly knowledgeable about everything from the history of the canyon to the geology of the area to the wildlife that calls the Grand Canyon home. We ended up being the only people on the tour since it is "off season" and we loved the personal attention. Dustin took us to some absolutely gorgeous viewing areas, including one that was off the beaten path. Lunch at the Navajo restaurant was delicious. I highly recommend this tour!

Great day with the family. Keaton picked us up on time from our hotel in Flagstaff for the ride to the South Rim for our all-day tour. We began learning about the geology and history of the area the moment we entered the tour van. My kids and I had lots of questions that Keaton gladly answered. He was smart, friendly, and professional, and obviously enjoys taking folks to the canyon. He took us to some of the most scenic places and gave us a class on the geologic history of the canyon, complete with handouts, as we looked out on one of the most beautiful sites I have ever seen. Lunch is in included at the Navajo reservation. In summary, if you really want to learn about the Canyon, in addition to having a hassle-free day, contact Canyon Dave.
