What To Expect

Talkeetna Air Taxi

You will start your excursion by checking into our log cabin office at the Talkeetna State Airport 45 minutes prior to your flight departure. Be sure to bring your sunglasses, light jacket (in the summer) and plenty of memory on your camera. Board our ski-equipped aircraft and enjoy your pilots' commentary about the geological history and local wildlife on your individual headset. Continue your flight above Talkeetna and over the river systems of the Susitna valley as you enter into an incredible landscape of icefalls, glaciers and snow peaks. You'll be awed by the Great Gorge of the Ruth Glacier, filled with a 4,000 foot thick river of ice, making this one of the deepest gorges in the world. Travel further into the range to explore the seven major glaciers that blanket the southside of the Alaska Range. Add a glacier landing onto your trip for a highlight of your Alaska vacation. This will add 30 minutes onto your trip time for this chance to bask in awe inspiring scenery.

This was one of the best flying experiences I’ve had in my life. I fly aircraft down south but this was still shocking how incredible the view was. Our pilot Leighan was one of the best pilots I’ve flown with. Great company and staff, can’t thank them enough!

I really wanted to give a better review because the view was incredible. I was surprised we were offered a full refund because of cloud cover but they convinced us that we would see the mountains once we broke through. Indeed the scenery was outstanding and the pilot did a great job of making sure all passengers could see the mountain. However we were the first to arrive and the last to be placed on a plane. In addition to the usual 30-45 wait we stood in the cold for another hour. They changed our placement three times including once that when they did not inform us. My feet were cold prior to departure and only got worse on the flight which was freezing. The pilot admitted he was too hot so did not put the heat on. This company could communicate better and actually care about the customer and not just the money.
