Granite Reef Kayaking Trip on the Lower Salt River

Overview
The trip is a scenic, unguided, four and a half hour kayaking journey down the Lower Salt River. Starting at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, you and your group will kayak down a leisurely thirteen mile stretch of river as it moves it's way through the Tonto National Forest. Participants often witness wild horses, otters, birds and other wildlife that cool off in the river during the summer months.

We have the special privilege of being the only kayak rental company located right on the Salt River, so our trips launch directly from our site which you are returned to via shuttle after your trip. Each reservation includes a kayak rental, paddle, PFD and return shuttle to starting site.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to launch time so you may complete waivers, prepare belongings, receive safety orientation prior to the scheduled launch time.  Water, sunscreen and dry bags are for sale. Orientation is mandatory and includes basic paddling, water safety and geography of the river.

Well was not expecting all the trash in the river was so very disappointed, thought I was going to have a peaceful trip down beautiful waters which ended up being not peaceful at all struggling to kayak through a bunch of drunk people and trash. So very sad for the horses and the fish. Was horrible not sure I will do that again.

The river is too scenic and beautiful for all the trash, thank you for trying to help us keep it clean. To avoid the public tubers or kayakers you can come earlier in the morning or on a weekday when there is less people populated. We do have a couple trips we will advertise to help us clean the trash littered in river and we appreciate you being aware of this issue. We hope you can possibly join us for our Salt River Clean Up Kayak Trips later in the season.
