Granite Reef Kayaking Trip on the Lower Salt River

Overview
The trip is a scenic, unguided, four and a half hour kayaking journey down the Lower Salt River. Starting at Saguaro Lake Guest Ranch, you and your group will kayak down a leisurely thirteen mile stretch of river as it moves it's way through the Tonto National Forest. Participants often witness wild horses, otters, birds and other wildlife that cool off in the river during the summer months.

We have the special privilege of being the only kayak rental company located right on the Salt River, so our trips launch directly from our site which you are returned to via shuttle after your trip. Each reservation includes a kayak rental, paddle, PFD and return shuttle to starting site.

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to launch time so you may complete waivers, prepare belongings, receive safety orientation prior to the scheduled launch time.  Water, sunscreen and dry bags are for sale. Orientation is mandatory and includes basic paddling, water safety and geography of the river.

Best kayaking trip of my life. The trip was the perfect amount of time, and very reasonably priced as well. Some of the most scenic views on the river, and of course one of the highlights was seeing about 20 wild horses all standing right in the river

For me this was a challenge to face a fear of water, At 69 years old I decided to take the first step forward to prove that I can do more that just sit on the sidelines. I'm a 2 time Cancer survivor and this last year has been nothing short of "New" challenges for both health and heart. I will say I had some times that I questioned my choice but all in all I'm so glad I did it. Staff was friendly and helpful with instructions and safety guidelines. Thank you for an experience I won't soon forget.
