My brother and I took part in the Atlanta Food Walks tour with Akila as our tour guide on October 25. It was a fantastic experience, with excellent restaurant choices interwoven with the history of a number of neighbourhoods in downtown Atlanta. The tour was well paced, with a variety of wonderful southern cuisine tastings including classics like friend chicken, BBQ pork and shrimp and grits as well as some delicious cocktails and wine - All were delicious and we certainly did not come away hungry! Akila was well versed in the cultural and food history of the area. She is epitome of southern hospitality and went out of her way to make everyone comfortable on the tour and ensure we all had the best experience. I would highly recommend this food tour, and look forward to taking another tour with Atlanta Food Walks the next time I'm in the city!

Akila was our tour guide and she was excellent. Her knowledge of the history of southern food and specifically the Atlanta area was amazing. My appreciation for the Atlanta area and the food that makes it special was elevated with the historical understanding and importance of it's day. You will be transported to age where segregation was still the norm and visit areas that you may never have experienced unless you are a part of this tour. I left thinking, "how in the world did I not know about such a great restaurant!" at many of the places we visited. The value you get for the price of the tour is extremely high. You will not leave disappointed.
