This was my first ever visit to Atlanta and the Downtown Southern Food Tour was my first ever food tour! It was great to get away from the usual tourist hotspots and to see and walk the city and different neighbourhoods. The walking itself was not rushed and the route was easy. Ashley, our guide, was super friendly, bubbly and knew plenty about the history of the city and the sights. The food samples themselves were great although some stops seemed less relevant or less generous than others, but at no point did I feel short-changed or unsatisfied! Overall the tour experience was great, I would definitely go on another in Atlanta or another city. Thanks for a great day out!

I was showing my cousin from Los Angeles around the Atlanta area. I had never taken a food tour or even heard of this activity but we decided to try it. Of all the things we did over the week (Stone Mountain, world of Coke, aquarium, zoo, etc) this was both of our favorites. I will definitely do this again. Even as someone who has lived in Atlanta for 10 years I had not been to any of these restaurants. This would make a fantastic date night or friends outing for locals. You need to be prepared to walk 2-3 miles. It is not rushed in anyway and I found spots to sit down on the walk to take pictures or listen to our guide. Our tour guide was knowledgeable about history, architecture, Atlanta film scene, and of course food. Also it is a one-way walk starting at Paschals and ending at the Curb market. The company will provide a shuttle ride back to your parking spot at Paschals for $4 or you can walk or Uber/Lyft. Now about the food. You will try small portions and bites from 6 vendors. And one alcoholic beverage- as much water as you want. Our favorite was the fried chicken at Paschals but everything was interesting and worth a try. When you walk in to a stop they are ready for you- you sit down and are immediately served food. It is very nice not have to wait or order. If you are looking for large portions and lots of choices this is not that. It will be selected menu items to showcase different types of southern food influences - African- colonial- etc. It is a long tour, you will not be hungry at the end, and you will have seen and learned so much about the city, its history, and the civil rights movement. Can't recommend enough.

The food was good, and the walk was easy. My wife and I live in the Atlanta area, and found this tour to be very fun and entertaining. The tour was based mostly on civil rights history, and our tour guide, Ashley, did an excellent job guiding us through the tour and telling us information and facts. I definitely recommend it for anyone looking for a fun way to see the city.
