Local actors will take you on a fascinating walking tour of several Greenwich Village bars that are rich with literary history. Inside each bar, you’ll relax and have time for a drink as your tour guides weave fantastic tales of the history of the establishment and of some of the greatest authors who have hung out, drank and written there- writers who helped shape both the village and the world. Along the way you’ll stop at unique sites that are literary, historical, or alcoholic in nature. Add some passionate recitations, charmingly dashing guides, and a buttload* of wit – this is a tour not to miss.

I’ve spent more time than I can remember in the West Village and this enjoyable and informative tour made me realize how little I knew. Our guides, Marissa and Malika were well-informed, well-read, very engaging, and made it all the more rewarding. And while I know they are expected to follow some sort of itinerary (and they didn’t seem to miss anything) it did not feel scripted. We really didn’t want the tour to end. We plan to try the other tours this group offers. And if you don’t enjoy the pubs you’ll visit on this excursion or the stories and knowledge you gain then you probably shouldn’t be in the West Village anyway. An A+++.

What can I say except that this was ridiculously fun! What a fabulous afternoon activity in this crazy city. You should go and bring family or friends of all ages! An energetic, enthusiastic, educated, and vibrant tour was enjoyed by all. Literary nerds and non-nerds alike will have a good time with this and there is SO much history in the Village. We had a big group and the tour guide managed to engage everyone. I highly recommend this as the best Lit Pub Crawl around.

Entertaining.......yet informational.....and then the alcohol takes effect!!!! Discovered these guys in 2007 when my daughter was living in the neighborhood (I think we've been on six or seven crawls, but I've really lost track), and have had an amazing time...every time! And the 20th anniversary was certainly worth the wait! (Huh?) Great, great day!!! Looking forward to the next time! Here's to twenty more incredible years! Slainte!
