Griffins, Goblet & Gold: An Interactive Magical Arts Museum Tour

Overview
Join us for “Griffins, Goblets, and Gold,” an interactive ‘Magical Arts’ tour in the Metropolitan Museum inspired by a well-loved book series about magic and wizards. See spaces and places that might remind you of those in the books, from part of an actual castle to mythical creatures that resemble those in the story. You’ll participate in activities, explore the museum from a wizard’s perspective… and maybe even do a little magic. (Appropriate interactive wizards gear is encouraged.) Advance reservations required. Please allow two hours for your tour.

Please note: There are no objects or replicas of objects from the movies in the Metropolitan Museum.

These tours are in no way endorsed by or affiliated with J.K. Rowling, Bloomsbury Publishing, Arthur Levine Books, Scholastic, Little, Brown, Pottermore or Warner Bros.

We did the tour with 2 adults and 2 children ages 10 and 12 and it was excellent! 1 of us is a true Harry Potter fan, 2 are casual fans, and 1 knows little about Harry Potter yet we all enjoyed the tour. Frankly my children are a bit ‘museumed out’ due to us visiting many museums recently during our travels so I was looking for something to make our first trip to The Met memorable. I first learned of Fable and Lark through the John Hopkins Center for Talented Youth program but couldn’t sign up for the dates they offered. We decided to book on our own and am so glad we did! Our tour guide was very knowledgeable about the museum and made our visit so much more memorable and educational than if we would’ve toured on our own. We plan to go back for the Percy Jackson tour the next time we’re in NYC!! Highly recommend as a must do activity when you visit The Met!

This tour was fantastic. It was interesting, informative, and fun! I would absolutely recommend tours with Fable & Lark, and I’m planning to book another tour soon.

It was really cool. Recommended. Some group activities were required and I wasn’t expecting that, but it was fun. Hope you enjoy it too. ✨
