The captain and the naturalist were nice and very knowledgeable. They told us information about all the wildlife in the area. They spotted wildlife and pointed out to us. The captain was very experienced and that helped us to see many kinds of wildlife, including orcas. We were very lucky that the orcas (around 5-7) put up a good show for us right by our boat. The captain got orcas report at nearly the end of the tour and he instantly headed back for them. He followed them at proper distance and stayed with them over half an hour longer than the trip time. Earlier when we saw the dall porpoises the captain also tried to draw them near by creating waves. We had a good time with the porpoises. The boat was at the right size-not too small and not too big and had something that helped in smoothing the cruise. There was an inside heated room and outside spaces. Binoculars were provided as well as extra jackets and hats. I don't think there was a restroom, though. Luckily we didn't need it. All in all, great tour! (I went with family, adults and seniors, but there's no such option to choose from in this review.)

Captain Dan and his well versed naturalist, Deb were amazing. First the boat....it's very clean & has plenty of enclosed space as well as outdoor space. There's also a top deck with great viewing. You can even sit in with Captain Dan and chat with him while he's driving. It's very cozy & personal boat and not like the giant whale boats we're used to in So. Cal. The boat was equipped with binoculars for everyone and had available plenty of extra jackets, hats, scarves just in case They took us around the islands where we saw many bald eagles, Dall's porpoises, steller sea lions, seals & other wildlife. Towards the end of trip, Dan heard there was a sighting of orcas not far from Orcas harbor and we hurried over just in time to catch a pod of transient orcas. They really were spectacular as we caught sight of them & we were so excited as they approached the boat to check us out. It was quite a treat since we're still early in the season and there have been only a few sightings so far. Capt Dan even stayed out on the water longer than normal to let us hang out with the orcas for while. While there were several other boats also in the area, I was glad to be on the Eclipse because of the personal feel of the trip.

I was lucky enough to catch the last whale tour of the season with these guys. Every single guest was pampered and doted on. We were on a very posh boat with warm indoor cabin; comfortable assigned seating (though we were free to move about and venture outside the cabin at will); outside there was a lovely upper level and plenty of room for everyone to move around; Bushnell Binoculars were provided for each guest, with small ones for the small ones :) The two environmentalists on board were both very kind and knowledgeable; and the captain was confident, informative, and fun. I had a great time and would highly recommend Orcas Island Eclipse Charters for a fantastic experience. Oh ya, we saw Humpbacks, Sea Lions, Eagles, Orcas, and more! Check out their website at OrcasIslandWhales.com.
