I had booked the cruise nearly a month in advance for 4 people. My parents were coming into town from the east coast for a short trip and the whale watching cruise was to be the highlight of the trip. We get a call the day prior cancelling the trip. We had already paid for our tickets through groupon and booked a condo for the weekend. They were unable to reschedule and didn't seem accommodating. They ruined the entire trip that was planned for my parents anniversary/ mothers day gift. Don't count on them.

Dan and Denise are the greatest orca guides ever. This was my second "whale watching tour" in as many years, and I can say, this one eclipsed the first one easily. Dan/Denise are very knowledgeable with sighting and following these magnificent creatures. It also was their first whale watch of the season, and it was impeccably done- the views were awesome, and we got to see a bunch of other sightings- bald eagle (5 of them!), harbor seals, wild goats and others. The boat itself is neat- good views from the warm inside, and a great deck if you want to explore your way up for a 360 view of the water and the whales. Absolutely loved the experience, and would come again anytime!

My friend and I couldn't be happier with the results of our whale-watching boat ride with Dan and Denise. They found 2 pods of whales, which we had great views of for quite some time as well as other wildlife including several bald eagles, porpoises, sea lions, and even bighorn rams. Family owned and run operations are always better in my opinion because they treat you like family, too. Toward the end of the ride, we had hot chocolate and coffee for a mere $1.00. The big outfits would charge you an arm and a leg. We even had free refills. It's easy, too, to hop on a ferry and get to the island. The ferry ride becomes a part of the adventure as well as exploring the island. It's such a thrill and joy to see these animals in their natural habitat. We saw several jumps and fins slapping on the water. It almost seemed as if the whales were synchronized swimmers, as they rose above the water almost in unison with each other. We highly recommend Orcas Island Eclipse Charters, and hope to be back again!
