This was an incredible experience. Dan and Denise (owners) were absolutely amazing. Katherine was the onboard naturalist and was quite knowledgable. We shared the boat with 7 other folks and we all had a great time. We spotted at least a dozen whales ( one siting would have been worth the trip). If you are going on a whale watching trip, go with this group. I can't imagine anyone else giving you a better experience.

This was a winner! We chose this excursion based on on-line reviews and we were really glad that we went with this company. There are several others on the island, but this boat is piloted by the owner who has been doing this in this area for more than 20 years. In looking at other options I got the idea that they were staffed by young inexperienced guides just looking to make some quick money. Dan, the captain and his wife, Denise, who own the boat, are very safety conscious and the boat was completely comfortable. They even provide binoculars, and rain gear for everyone! They are also very involved in conservation and obviously in tune with the wildlife of the area, providing two knowledgeable naturalists on the trip. Although of course it is never a guarantee, we saw TONS of whales on our trip along with eagles and other wildlife. I would definitely do this again and with this company!

We have been on a number of trips whale-watching, but this is the first time we were accompanied by two naturalists who helped us truly understand what Orcas are all about, and explained the research going on at the University of Washington including the use of dogs to hunt for Orcas. Imagine our surprise when we saw an article on the front page of the New York Times this week, days after taking this trip, explaining Buster, the research dog's role, in Orcas research! We found the boat's captain informative, and thoughtful, in divining where the Orcas might be traveling, so we got to experience some wonderful sightings.
