We had an afternoon whale watching trip with Captain Dan and two of their naturalists. We were put on whales after about an hour drive to reach the area where they were spotted earlier. The naturalists walked around the boat and gave us hand outs and helpful information. The boat was very comfortable, we were assigned a table which came with binoculars. They offered warm jackets, gloves, basically anything you forgot, they thought of. They also offered bracelets if you thought you were going to get motion sickness. We spent about an hour in the proximity of about 5-6 whales that were hunting and migrating. It's always thrilling to see them so close. We spent about an hour getting back to the marina, with seals, porpoises and eagle spotting on the way back. Overall, I'd send anyone to them for a whale watching trip, it was worth the fee and very successful.

I've now been on Captain Dan's whale boat at least half a dozen times and I will be back again & again. Best whale boat in the islands or Anacortes. They are so genuine, caring, knowledgeable and have dedicated their lives to these amazing, beautiful creatures. Makes for a wonderful experience. I highly recommend! :)

This was the 4th time we've been out with Capt Dan from Orcas Village. He's been doing it FOREVER, seems to know everyone in the business, his boat is by far the most comfortable with all human comforts for a 3-4 trip (dedicated inside seats, table, binoculars, onboard bathroom, limited snacks/bev avail for purchase). We see so many other boats out in the same waters without the protection from the rain/wind etc...And as naturalists, they are just as interested in the other things (seals, other whales, eagles) etc...It's always been a great day!
