I've been on a number of bike tours around the world. Satisfaction on a bike tour depends not just on tour content/route but on one's cycling skill as well. I'd summarize this package as light tour content for those that occasionally ride. The operators of this business need to clean up their act regardless of tour level. - There is definitely racial bias. While waiting for bike assignments, others were repeatedly taken out of queue ahead of me. I was invisible to the staff, despite polite attempts to draw their attention. They just kept ignoring me, until a woman refused service until I was served. - At the end of the tour, it was clear the guide was anxious to return and he lost all concern for his customers. The group got strung out about a quarter of a mile, and the guide pulled us out of the bike lane into oncoming vehicular traffic. A moving freight truck had to yield suddenly endangering some of the riders. We were clearly at fault because some of the riders just blindly followed the tour guide without checking for oncoming traffic. The tour guide should have collected the group before attempting manuevers like that, but he was oblivious to what was happening behind him. - When returning the bikes, the operator (Pedros?) was wreckless. He piled up bikes on the sidewalk without care, and when they toppled over damaging a BMW parked at the curb, he showed absolutely no concern. Neither did what appeared to be his supervisor who saw the whole incident. For a company that operates like this, do you think they are responsible and safe?

We are deeply sorry that you had a negative experience with us at Bike Rent NYC. We are always hard at work ensuring that our riders have a safe and fun experience. We would like to look into this further. Can you please email us at [email protected]? We would like to ask a few questions to help our internal investigation. We have a zero-tolerance policy for any type of racial bias toward any of our customers. We value all of our customers equally, regardless of ethnic background. Our guides prioritize the safety of their tour groups above all else. Unfortunately, tour groups do occasionally lose track of their guides because of how hectic Central Park can be. Our bike handlers are all trained to responsibly and safely care for both customers and bikes. We are disheartened to hear that our bike handlers may have damaged someone’s property. Again, we will look into this deeper and look forward to your email.

This was a brilliant tour and we were probably lucky as it was just my wife and I so it was a bit more one on one. Lyall was our guide and he was great. Taking us through the history of Central park from the beginnings to how it is today with everything in between. Being a local he was very knowledgeable and pointing out buildings where celebs lived and jaw dropping prices that some apartments have sold for. Bikes were nice to ride and the ride is pretty leisurely 11km. Although we are fit I feel most people would be able to do this ride fairly comfortably. 100% recommend

My friend and I thoroughly enjoyed our bike tour this past Saturday in Central Park. Tony was a very friendly and well-informed tour guide. He made sure we got enough stops and time to appreciate the sights. I think the tour was a good length and the staff were all very helpful. Thank you!
