Guided Fairbanks Snowmobile Tour

Overview

Slip on your heated helmet and hit the gas--we are headed through Alaska's winter playground. This 1 hour guided tour takes place on the outskirts of North Pole where we will thunder across the famous Alaska Pipeline and zip through snow covered forests. We usually see some wildlife on every tour to include: Moose, Fox, Snowshoe Hares, Ptarmigan, Grouse, and squirrels.

All snowmobiles are new Ski Doo luxury touring snowmobiles. These snowmobiles are made for riding in style and comfort. All snowmobiles have heated handgrips and electric start.

A must do! My husband and I were in Fairbanks to see the Northern Lights for our 15th anniversary and decided to do a snowmobile and ice fishing tour with Rod's Alaskan Guide Service on November 13, 2017. We knew it was going to be fun from all the great reviews but it was by far the highlight of our trip! Our guides were awesome guys and we really had a great time spending the day with them. They were very accommodating and let us set the pace with whatever we were comfortable with. They made sure we were dressed properly with the right gear and the top of the line snowmobiles were very nice with the heated hand grips and helmets. Ice fishing was so much fun, we were catching fish so fast it was hard to keep count! We were glad it was just us on our tour. Our guides were so nice, it was like spending the day with friends. We had an amazing time and highly recommend Rod's!

First of all, booking and other procedures are easy thanks Rod, and North Pole is just about 10 miles away from Fairbanks, and this place is easy to find. I initially started with 1 hour, but since I had a lot of fun, I extended it during the tour, which is not an issue at all. I had the honor to meet and learn from Andrew, my really cool and nice guide, and we spent a good 2 hours on the trail that was nothing but gorgeous and peaceful to ride on. Andrew was very patient with a first timer like me, and the instructions were clear and simple. Since I was the only one on the tour, we had a lot of chances sharing funny stories and different interesting things including a moose we saw along the way. If you are a first timer trying to experience snowmobile ride, I definitely recommend this.

Awesome trip! Highly recommended. Rod took care of us and made sure we were comfortable. For the first few minutes, he will make you go around to practice, then you go over the trail. Beautiful area. We even crossed a frozen lake! Pick-up is not available so we took a cab to the meeting point. Also if you are wearing glasses, I highly suggest switch to contacts because it fogs up and harder to drive.

Overall, it was a very fun experience!
