Guided Small Group Manatee Snorkeling Tour with In-Water Photographer

Overview
Enjoy a close, personal encounter with the West Indian Manatee as you snorkel with them under the guidance of a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain. Our small group (no more than six guests) tours are conducted daily in the beautiful Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Get up close and personal with these amazing mammals and learn about the ecosystem and their habitat.

Unlike many tours, these Captains will actually swim with you and your group to ensure that you have a memorable experience. While in the water, your captain/tour guide will take high-definition photos and videos of you and your group which you will be able to view and purchase at the end of your trip.

Your price includes all snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, wetsuit) and complimentary coffee or hot cocoa.

My husband and I booked a manatee encounter based on all the great reviews I read online about this company. They did not disappoint. The number of manatees we saw may have been small but the quality of time we spent watching this amazing mammal was huge! We watched a manatee eat grass for what seemed like the longest time. Very up close and personal!!! We also were able to snorkel through Three Sisters Springs which was absolutely gorgeous! No manatees there because it's not winter yet but well worth the trip. Captain Bob and Lauren were great guides and I highly recommend them! Thank for the memories!

We recently went on the manatee snorkeling tour with Captain Ron and Lauren on August 31st and it was AWESOME! It is off season but we saw at least 6 manatees and we had quality swim time with 2 manatees up close. The boat was a regular size pontoon that seated 6, there were 5 of us on the tour. I loved that we didn't have to share the experience with other people. It made it more personal. We spotted the 1st manatee at Jurassic Springs, the water was very clear and Lauren made sure to get us close enough to swim with the manatee and get our pictures taken. The 2nd manatee was in the same area but the water was murkier. We then went to Three Sisters Springs and saw 2 manatees in the canal on the way. We snorkeled up the springs, there were no manatees in the springs but it is well worth the visit! The water is crystal clear and the entire area is gorgeous! We bought the photo CD afterwards for $40 that I thought was well worth it but there were some pictures that did not come through as well as only a few videos. I'm not sure if it was a problem with the USB or my computer though. Overall, I would definitely go again and I will use Gulf Coast Expeditions and I recommend to everyone! **The office is located behind the marina building almost to the end.

I highly recommend this experience! The springs are beautiful enough to see on their own, but when you see the gentle giant manatees, it brings it to a new level. Well worth the drive from Madeira Beach. We were worried we wouldn’t find the wild manatees in the summer, but Captain Ron and crew know all their hiding spots! He keeps the tour groups to a maximum of 6, unlike some of the larger providers. Remember, you are quietly trying to slip in the water with wild manatees, so it is easier to do with small groups. He also afforded us extra time in the water given we had an excellent encounter experience underway. Everything is supplied, including towels, coffee and hot chocolate.
