Guided Small Group Manatee Snorkeling Tour with In-Water Photographer

Overview
Enjoy a close, personal encounter with the West Indian Manatee as you snorkel with them under the guidance of a U.S. Coast Guard Licensed Captain. Our small group (no more than six guests) tours are conducted daily in the beautiful Crystal River National Wildlife Refuge. Get up close and personal with these amazing mammals and learn about the ecosystem and their habitat.

Unlike many tours, these Captains will actually swim with you and your group to ensure that you have a memorable experience. While in the water, your captain/tour guide will take high-definition photos and videos of you and your group which you will be able to view and purchase at the end of your trip.

Your price includes all snorkeling equipment (mask, snorkel, wetsuit) and complimentary coffee or hot cocoa.

We LOVED our trip. We must have really lucked out, as we were the only two on our boat, which made for a great experience. I had read that the early tour was recommended, but we still had great experiences with the 10am tour. The office is a bit hard to find within the marina, but we asked the friendly people at the bait store and they directed us. We arrived and put on our wetsuits. It was really cold that day (the high was 60), so it was nice to get dressed in the office, instead of out on the water. The wetsuit was plenty warm in the water, and I get cold easily. It's a short boat ride to the manatee reserve area. Captain Ron is very respectful of the manatees, being very careful while in the area. Once there, we put on masks and snorkels (good quality) and got in the water. Our guide instructed us to stay still and let the manatees approach us. They were able to instruct us when to interact with the manatees and when to stay still. The water is very shallow, and you aren't supposed to kick (too noisy), so no fins were given. The interactions with the manatees were incredible. The babies come up and play with you and bump into you. All of the operators in the area are very respectful of the manatees, which is important. We really loved this trip and would do it again with Ron on our next visit to Florida.

We, along with friends, took a 10:00 am trip with Captain Ron and Lauren. Both of them were very knowledgeable and willing to share their knowledge with all each of us. Lauren was our incredible in water guide, her knowledge, experience and concern for the Manatees and guests was evident from the moment we entered the facility until we left. Thanks to Lauren and Captain Ron for helping to make our experience totally awesome!

We took the 10 am tour on 1/23/18 following several days of unseasonably warm weather. On the ride over to the springs (for this group it was 3 sisters) we saw several dolphins. Once at the springs it took no time to get used to the water temperature and within minutes we were floating next to the sanctuary and watching manatees glide by as they went about their business. Every trip is unique in the number of manatees seen, and where they will be seen, but Captain Ron and Lauren were great at helping everyone to have a good experience
