What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

We did a mini photo shoot with BB King the day of our horse farm tour! It was definitely an experience we will never forget. Taylor was so great in capturing some amazing photos! If you are planning a trip to Ocala, Gypsy Gold Farm is a must see. Dennis gives a very informative & entertaining lecture about the history of the breed and the farm. The tour was very informative about the history of the horses. There’s alot of beautiful back story that the owner goes into detail, you can see how he truly loves these animals, it’s heartwarming. The first part is about the history and the second part is walking around the farm getting to meet, take pics and petting the horses, mules and donkeys. There’s a few macaws too that are adorable.

My sister and I toured the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm on a beautiful October morning. What an amazing experience! Dennis and Erin welcomed us with open arms and an invitation to have coffee before Dennis’s presentation on the history of the Gypsy Vanner horses. Dennis’s knowledge of the breed he introduced to America and his experiences with the Gypsy’s who created the breed are beyond impressive! My sister and I, as well as the rest of the audience, were spellbound by his entertaining and educational presentation. Also, the stunning beauty of the horses is breathtaking! The horse farm is so lovely! This was an incredible experience for my sister and me! We will never forget it! Many thanks to Dennis and Erin for their gracious and kind hospitality! 5 ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️!!!

Thank you so much, for your wonderful words, we are humbled. On Tuesday we went to a friends memorial and I thought what an awesome life he lived. Luis was a Lion Tamer who performed with circuses all over the world and Prince Rainier of Monaco and the Greatest Show On Earth, Ringling Brothers . On Wednesday we had a tour and as I talked about another friend they called "King Of The Coloured Horses", Fred Walker , . who called me every two weeks for years from a covered Gypsy Caravan , my mind thought of Luis and Fred and like you I became a little spellbound also.
