What To Expect

The Gypsy Gold Farm

our first forty five minutes is an educational journey conducted by Dennis Thompson, the discoverer and founder of the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed. Dennis and Erin will then introduce you to a Gypsy Vanner stallion and explain the envisioned look and details unique to the Vanner breed. Your second hour is a walk among horse filled paddocks lined with ancient oaks laden with the romantic Spanish moss of the south. On your walk you will meet beautiful stallions and mares and friendly Gypsy Vanner Horse babies. Your Gypsy Gold Farm Tour ends with a picture opportunity with an incredible Gypsy Vanner Horse stallion and a visit to the Gypsy Gold gift shop.

My wife and I visited the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm, the tour was great, Firstly, Dennis the owner and founder of the farm , gave us all a potted history of how the farm and the Gypsy Vanner Horse breed came into existence. He made the talk fascinating, inspiring, and sad/amusing at times . His enthusiasm and love for all animals was beyond doubt, a real gentleman. We then had a tour of the farm with the young lady who works there, this, again was brilliant, so interesting to see the horses at the different stages of development and link them with the story Dennis told. It goes without saying that they were all beautiful. Would certainly recommend this tour, especially for those that have a love of horses. An added bonus was the free coffee and water provided there.

My husband and I went to the Gypsy Gold Horse Farm in Ocala with high expectations and the owner Dennis, his staff and the horses were just fabulous! I have been a fan of these horses for years and it was such a great experience because Dennis is so knowledgeable and these horses are so beautiful and mild mannered. If you live in Florida or are visiting be sure to make this Horse Farm one of your stops. I highly recommend. You won’t be disappointed!

I loved my visit to Gypsy Gold Horse Farm. This is a must for horse lovers! Well worth the fee. The owner does a 1 hour talk which is educational, enlightening and funny. Didn't feel like an hour! Next, a relaxed walking tour to meet the horses, (and birds!). The volunteers are friendly and knowledgeable. I do wish the gift shop sold tee-shirts. Hint Hint 😉
